NSW: Official Oly ticket deliveries go ahead as planned

A mass delivery of thousands of Olympic tickets will go ahead as planned tomorrow in
Australia's fourth Your Ticket Sunday.

However, some 30,000 prized packages of Olympic tickets ordered after June 15 and Paralympic
tickets, will not be delivered until next week.

Australia Post was to deliver the batch of tickets during tomorrow's huge home delivery
but ran into industrial strife, with postal workers demanding a $400 Olympic bonus.

In the end, SOCOG had not delivered the tickets to Australia Post on time anyway.

Negotiations between Australia Post and the Communications, Electrical and Plumbing
Union continued today, with a decision on the $400 Olympic allowance to be made on Monday.

CEPU secretary JIM METCHER has described the two-hour meeting with representatives
from Australia Post as positive and meaningful.
